Upcoming events at Klamath County Museums

 

Debris Flows on Mount Shasta – A program examining mud and debris flows on Mount Shasta will be presented at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 17, at the Klamath County Museum. Presented by Steve Bachmann, a hydrologist on the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. Free.

Native Plant Sale – A wide variety of native plants, including mostly wildflowers and some shrubs, will be offered at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 18, at the Klamath County Museum (in parking lot next to FleetPride). Plants available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Cosponsored by the Museum, the Klamath Basin Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Oregon and the Klamath Soil and Water Conservation District.

1918 Pandemic in Klamath – An overview of how the 1918 influenza pandemic affected people in Klamath County will be presented at 7 p.m. May 24 at the monthly meeting of the Klamath County Historical Society, held in the back meeting room of the Klamath County Museum. Free.

Heritage Days – A living history encampment at the Fort Klamath Klamath Museum runs Saturday and Sunday, May 25-26.

Rockhouding Day – A day of searching for "Yadenite" will be sponsored at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 14, by the Klamath County Museum and the Klamath Rock and Arrowhead Club.

Perseid meteor shower – A star party to watch the Perseid meteor shower will be offered on the evening of Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Fort Klamath Museum. Free.
